BJP Functionaries Interact with Governor on PVTG Family Suicide Case
RAIPUR: A team of BJP MLAs interacted with the Governor at Raj Bhavan seeking action on the suicide of a family belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) Pahadi Korwa. The party functionaries interacting with the media reporters, hit out at CM Baghel stating that no action was taken from the ruling party so far.
However, the communication department head Sushil Anand Shukla earlier cleared the air on the suicide mentioning ‘a family dispute’ as the reason.
Earlier on Saturday, an opposition fact-finding team mentioned that unemployment and starvation forced the family to commit suicide. Narayan Chandel who was also a part of the fact-finding team that visited Jhumridumar village also attacked the state govt for its processes to address unemployment in the state. Other BJP functionaries included former Rajya Sabha Ramvichar Netam and Sanjay Shrivastav. The team submitted a report to the party in which it mentioned details of the families that are residing in the villages.
Four members of a family including a one-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter belonging to the PVTG Pahadi Korwa were found hanging on a tree in front of their houses in Jashpur on April 2nd.
