BJP shedding crocodile tears over farmers: Cong
PCC chief Mohan Markam on Friday alleged that BJP Chhattisgarh chief Vishnu Deo Sai was shedding crocodile tears over the farmers of Nava Raipur.
Markam said in a statement that the BJP had nothing to do with the plights of farmers and that their problem was generated by the BJP.
Sharply reacting to Sai’s comment, Markam accused the BJP of exploiting the farmers of Nava Raipur during their 15-year regime while the Baghel government was sympathetically considering the farmers’ demands.
“CM (Chief Minister Bhupesh) Baghel had met a delegation of farmers and promised to resolve their problems,” he said.
“Everyone knows that Baghel is first a farmer and then became a Chief Minister. He is serious on the farmer’s plight,” he added.
The displaced farmers of Nava Raipur on Thursday protested before the cavalcade of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi here.
