BJP takes out lantern march to protest power tariff hike

The BJP on Tuesday held protests across Chhattisgarh against the new electricity tariff which it said will hurt ordinary people.

Demanding a rollback, BJP leaders and cadres took out a lantern march here.Also, the BJP held sit-ins at each district headquarters and handed over memorandums addressed the Chhattisgarh Governor to the District Collectors. The BJP questioned the timing of the hike after the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Congress had promised to halve the electricity bill but has hiked it instead, it said.
