CG Celebrates 132nd Ambedkar Jayanti
Raipur: On the occasion of 132nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Chhattisgarh Chief Miner Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to him at a programme oganised at Ambedkar Chowk in Raipur. Assembly speaker remembered Dr. Ambedkar paying floral tributes at his oil paintings at Central Hall.
As the new building of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly is being constructed right in front of Mantralaya and HOD building in Nava Raipur, Mr. Mahant announced installation of a statue of Dr. Ambedkar at the new building premises of the Assembly. Vidhan Secretary Dinesh Sharma and senior officials of the Secreatriat were also present.
“On one hand, when the country was fighting for freedom, on the other hand, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ji was organizing and fighting for the downtrodden society to get their rights. Pujya Babasaheb has inspired the people belonging to the backward classes of society to organize and struggle after being educated. Today, on the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at Ambedkar Chowk in the capital Raipur, his holy remembrance was done”. Tweeted CM Baghel.

Earlier on April 11, 2023, the Government of India declared a holiday on April 14 on the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhirao Ambedkar. The center has sent information to the states after which the Chhattisgarh government also issued a notification regarding the holiday.
