CG: No Water Supply in Bhilai Today due to Damage Repair
Bhilai, Chhattisgarh: Drinking water will not be supplied in the Durg Municipal Corporation area today, Nov 28. A damaged water tank valve in the Shakti Nagar area will be repaired today, due to which there will be a shutdown of the water supply for the whole day. According to the corporation adminration, the water supply will be restored directly on Tuesday. Officials of the Durg Municipal Corporation Water Works Department said that due to the fault in the Shakti Nagar water tank, the maintenance work will be done throughout the day.
The drinking water supply will remain closed from Monday morning till evening for Ward numbers 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 16, 15, 10, 11, 12, 13, 05, 09, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, and 37 will have a complete shutdown of the water supply which will be restored tomorrow. Expressing regret for this inconvenience, Mayor Dheeraj Bakliwal, Trainee commissioner Laxman Tiwari and water works in-charge Sanjay Kohle have also appealed to the citizens of the affected area to exercise patience as the water supply is affected. During this time water will be supplied in other areas apart from these wards.
It has been reported that the drinking water supply in the Durg Municipal Corporation area has completely deteriorated in the past weeks. Due to a lack of attention from the department, one or the other fault occurs every day. So, for the maintenance of the damages, a complete shutdown for the whole day has been announced. Notably, in the months of September and October also, the supply of drinking water remained disrupted throughout the day due to such maintenance works.
