CG Reports First Death Due to Swine Flu; 11 Active Cases

Raipur: Chhattisgarh reported its first death due to Swine flu in 2022. A 4-year-old boy succumbed to the HINI virus, the state health department said
As per, reports the infected patient, a native of Karwadha was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Samta Colony. As the patient presented Pneumonia, the swine flu test was instructed which returned positive.
Since July 15, 2022, there have been around 28 cases, out of which 1 died and 11 are under medical supervision.
The State Health Dept has issued an alert in view of the rising cases. The Health Minre in a press briefing on August 3rd appealed to all to stay alert as the seasonal diseases are on the rise. Director Epidemic Control, Dr Subhash Mishra educated the patients about the disease at a press briefing.
Swine flu is a severe respiratory infection caused the virus H1N1. According to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in humans, the symptoms of the 2009 “swine flu” H1N1 virus are similar to influenza and influenza-like illness in general. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, watery eyes, body aches, shortness of breath, headache, weight loss, chills, sneezing, runny nose, coughing, dizziness, abdominal pain, lack of appetite, and fatigue. Patients with co-morbidities are said to be the most at risk.
