Chhattisgarh: CM Baghel Launches Swami Atmanand College in Surguja
Surguja: Today, in a significant step towards bolstering education in Chhattisgarh, Chief Miner Bhupesh Baghel unveiled the Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College, marking its inauguration in the Surguja division. The inaugural ceremony at Keshavpur saw CM Baghel engaging in traditional puja rituals, followed ceremonial ribbon-cutting. Providing his support and presence, Deputy Chief Miner TS Singh Deo graced the occasion.
This college is one among the 10 Swami Atmanand English Medium Model Colleges planned across Chhattisgarh. Its establishment in Keshavpur, Ambikapur, exemplifies the government’s commitment to elevating educational infrastructure. Highlighting the significance, it’s notable that the college is structured to accommodate 1,000 students, and impressively, 610 students have already marked their enrollment.
Aligned with Chief Miner Bhupesh Baghel’s vision, the once-exing Government Science College has undergone extensive refurbishment, augmenting its infrastructure to match current educational paradigms. The students can now access cutting-edge facilities such as smart classrooms, a contemporary library, and advanced laboratories. Additionally, the college premises have been expanded, creating space for more classrooms.
This grand transformation, symbolizing the state’s dedication to education, was executed with an investment of Rs 2.54 crore. The financial breakdown includes Rs 1.21 crore for a new laboratory building, and Rs 1.33 crore was utilized for an array of enhancements like garden beautification, a concrete road, renovations to the principal’s office, upgrading the library and labs on the first floor, erecting an entrance gateway, and creating a dedicated parking area. This revamped infrastructure aims to provide an enriching learning environment for its students, there setting a benchmark in the state’s educational sector.
