Chhattisgarh launches virtual war on Covid-19

The Chhattisgarh government is working on a war footing to check the further spread of Covid-19 and to identify and treat patients.

Currently, more than 47,000 people are being tested for corona daily. The number of tests per day was 30,000 in March.

In January, the average daily testing was 22,761.

The state’s daily tests per 10 lakh population are 1,620 while the national average is 1,018, an official communication said on Friday.

In Chhattisgarh, TrueNat testing facilities are available in 31 government and five private labs. RTPCR test is conducted in seven government and five private labs.

The rapid antigen test is also available in primary health centers. According to information from the Health Department, the percentage of RTPCR investigation in total Covid investigations has increased by 14 percent as compared to October 2020.

Four new government RTPCR labs are being set up. In each district, the testing capacity of TrueNat Lab is being increased by providing additional machines.

At present, there are 118,636 active cases of Covid in the state. Most patients are in Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar, Bilaspur, Mahasamund, Korba and Bemetara districts.

So far, 486,244 cases of corona have been identified, out of which 362,301 patients are now healthy. The rest are under treatment. Six dedicated Covid Hospitals and 137 Covid Care Centers have been set up in the state. Dedicated Covid Hospitals have come up in every district.

Considering the situation, continuous work is on to increase the number of beds with medical facility and oxygen. Fourteen new oxygen generation plants have been set up in the state.

Home isolation has been provided to more than 2.5 lakh people in the state, out of which 90 percent have become healthy. Currently, an average of 2.13 lakh men and women are being vaccinated every day.
