Choubey hits out at Raman over CM row
Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey on Tuesday denounced former Chief Minister and BJP leader Raman Singh’s comments over infighting in the Congress.
Singh said in a statement stated that he was watching from the public gallery the goings on in the Congress.
“There is certainly a fire within and that is why smoke is coming out,” he said amid reports that the issue of being Chief Minister by rotation in Chhattisgarh had cropped up again.
Choubey said Singh will not be able to watch from even the public gallery in the near future as the voters had rejected him for his 15 years of misrule.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and senior Minister T.S. Singh Deo met Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Speculation is rife that Gandhi was to discuss a transfer of power from Baghel to Singh Deo.
AICC Chhattisgarh in-charge P.L. Punia, who attended the meeting, told the media that the discussions covered development issues and a change of guard did not figure.
