CM announces life size statue of Veer Narayan

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday announced a life size statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh at Jaistambh Chowk in the heart of Raipur.

He was addressing a programme held at the birthplace of the legendary freedom fighter Sonakhan in Baloda Bazaar district to mark his martyrdom day.

On this occasion, he announced that Sonakhan will be made a tehsil.

Baghel termed the freedom fighter ‘a true son of soil’ who fought against the British. The first freedom fighter from the state was hanged by the British.

Jaistambh, where he was hanged, has historical importance and a life size statue of him will come up there, he announced.
