CM announces Rs 200 Cr scheme for landless farmers
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday announced a new scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor Yojana, with a provision of Rs 200 crores in the budget.
The Rs 2,485 crores first supplementary budget for fiscal 2021-22 was passed by voice vote on the third day of the Monsoon session of the Assembly.
Baghel, replying to a discussion on the supplementary budget, announced the new scheme covering various MGNREGA and contract workers. Each targeted beneficiary will receive Rs 6,000.
He said a budgetary provision has been made for acquisition of the Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College at Durg, for which a bill has been tabled in the House.
The Chief Minister said Rs 957.45 crores provision has been made to upgrade the Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres keeping in view the feared third wave of Covid-19.
Similar provision has been made for ‘Nal Jal Yojana’ to supply drinking water to each house in the state.
Replying to points raised by BJP members, he said the ‘Nyay scheme’ of the state government is to advance the concept of justice which he said is being not only understood in the state but by the country.
On taking loans, he said the Central government has not paid the GST share to the state. Now a cess has been imposed and the state will not get a share.
Even after incurring losses, the state has not turned its back to the farmers. The earlier government had also taken loans for farmers.
He invited MLAs to visit Gauthans and point out flaws if any so that these can be removed.
