CM Baghel Flags Off Bilaspur-Bhopal Flight
This was long pending demand for more air services.CM in Kanker virtually launched the inaugral flight of Alliance Air.The ATR-172 flight took off from Bilaspur with 50 passengers.
Kanker: Chhattisgarh Chief Miner Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday flagged off from Kanker through virtual mode the Bilaspur-Bhopal-Bilaspur flight from the Bilasa Devi Kenwat Airport at Chakarbhatha.
The Chief Miner is on a visit to Kanker Assembly constituency as part of the public interaction drive (Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan). Baghel said that all efforts were on to expand air services in the state. The services have started at Jagdalpur and Bilaspur in the last three and a half years.
Automated ATC equipment has been installed at Jagdalpur, Bilaspur and Ambikapur airports which will facilitate landing of airplanes and helicopters in these airports at any time. Two more airstrips at Korea and Korba are being developed. At Ambikapur also, a runway is being developed at a cost of Rs 43 crore, an official communication said.
Fifty passengers travelled in the first Bilaspur-Bhopal flight. Regular domestic air service has been started from Bilaspur as part of the Delhi-Jabalpur-Bilaspur-Prayagraj sector from March 1st, 2021. The Bilaspur-Bhopal-Bilaspur is the second flight service.
