CM Baghel Transfers Rs 5.60 Crore To GNY Beneficiaries
CM Baghel releases funds to beneficiaries of GNY.Rs 5.60 crore transferred into bank accounts of cattle-rearers, women self-help groups (SHGs), and gauthan (cow shelter) committees.So far Rs 311 crore 94 lakhs have been transferred to beneficiaries of GNY.
Raipur: CM Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday afternoon transferred a sum of Rs 5.60 crore into the bank accounts of cattle-rearers, women self-help groups (SHGs), and gauthan (cow shelter) committees under the Godhan Nyay Yojana.
The meeting that was held at the CM’s residence, was attended senior officers from the Agrilcutlrure dept, Horticulture dept and Animal Husbandry. During the meeting, instructions were given to officers on the production of insecticide from cow urine- the Jeevamrit and Brahmastra. Jeevamrut and Brahmastra are two products that the CG govt has decided to produce from the cow urine they are procuring from cattle rearers.
Of the total amount, Rs 2.17 crore were paid to cow dung vendors, Rs 1.37 crore was transferred to SHGs and Rs 2.07 crore were given to gauthan committees. So far, nearly Rs 311 crore 94 lakhs have been transferred to beneficiaries under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana.
The state government launched the GNY scheme in July 2020, under which cow dung is being procured at Rs 2 per kilogram at gauthans and the dung is being used to prepare vermicompost.
In the last two years, the state government has procured cow dung worth over Rs 153.42 crore. The SHGs have produced over 20 lakh quintals of vermicompost, super compost, and super plus compost from the cow dung there helping to promote organic farming
