CM Baghel’s Message On World Tribal Day

Raipur: World Tribal Day, also known as the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, is observed on August 9 each year to raise awareness and protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population. The day was first proclaimed the United Nations General Assembly in December 1994, marking the day of the first meeting of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations of the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in 1982.
World Tribal Day is a time to celebrate the cultures and achievements of indigenous people and to raise awareness of the challenges they face. It is also a time to commit to protecting their rights and to ensuring that they have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

Return of 4200 acres of tribal land in Lohandiguda, formation of a committee to review the cases of tribals lodged in jails, decision to improve the standard of living of tribals with the amount of Drict Mineral Trust, establishment of Staff Selection Board in Bastar and Surguja are some of the efforts done Baghel government for the tribal society.
