CM Bhupesh Baghel Empowers Youth with Skill Development Program

Raipur– Chief Miner of Chattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel launched the ‘Jal Mitan-Yuva Udyami’ Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program during an event held at his office in Raipur, the capital city. The program, organised under the Jal-Jeevan Mission in collaboration with UNICEF, aimed to empower the youth and enhance their skills in entrepreneurship. The event was attended Public Health Engineering Miner Guru Rudrakumar, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Dr S Bharathidasan, Alok Katiyar, and Shweta Patnaik.
Chief Miner Baghel, Miner Guru Rudrakumar, and other dignitaries dributed tool kits to 90 water mittens (waterkeepers) and young entrepreneurs during the program. The tool kits included essential items such as safety shoes and helmets. The initiative is part of the Jal Jeevan Mission’s efforts to maintain sustainable water supply infrastructure in Chhattisgarh’s rural areas. providing skill development training, the state has prepared the youth to become ‘Jal Mitans’ and ‘Young Entrepreneurs.’

Chief Miner Baghel emphasised the significance of the Jal Jeevan Mission in developing and maintaining water supply infrastructure across households in rural areas. In collaboration with Jal Jeevan Mission and UNICEF, 540 youth and 90 young entrepreneurs from Chhattisgarh have undergone residential training for 21 days to gain expertise in various areas such as plumbing, electrical work, solar panel repair, and RO maintenance. This training equips them with the necessary skills to ensure the long-term functionality of the drinking water supply infrastructure.
Through such initiatives, Chhattisgarh aims to empower its youth and foster sustainable development in the water sector. The government’s focus on skill development and entrepreneurship training reflects its commitment to creating opportunities for the younger generation and promoting a prosperous future for the state.
