CM celebrates ‘Hareli’ festival
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and family members on Thursday celebrated ‘Hareli’, the farm related festival of the state.
Baghel and his wife Mukteshwari as well as other family members jointly offered prayers to the rural deities, a tulsi plant, a wooden plough, agriculture implements, ‘gedi’ and a cow at his official residence here.
He greeted the people of the state on the occasion and prayed for a good harvest.
On the occasion, Chhattisgarhi folk music, folk dance, traditional Gadwa Baja, Raut dance, Gedi dance, games and raichuli events were organized. Traditional cuisines were served.
The Chief Minister participated in the ‘Gedi’ dance with the artists and tried his hand on a spinning top. He also enjoyed ‘Rachuli’ (wooden spinning wheel) with his daughter.
Hareli marks the commencement of the sowing season in Chhattisgarh.
