CM dedicates tourist, Eco- learning centres

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday dedicated the Eco-learning Centre at Dudhawa Dam (North Bastar Kanker) and Van Chetna Kendra at Kodar water reservoir (Mahasamund). He hoped they would provide employment for local residents.

Addressing the events virtually from his official residence, Baghel greeted the Forest Management Committee for developing the centres, an official communication said.

He said now people will be drawn by their natural beauty. People would also become more aware of the wildlife and biodiversity of these areas.

The Chief Minister had in March 2021 announced development of Van Chetna Kendra Kodar as an eco-tourism destination.

Work on a tree house, a nature trail, for bird watching and motor boat facility is in progress. Tourists will have camping facilities and can organize adventure camps.

The centre is located on National Highway 53 at a distance of 65 km from Raipur, 17 km from Mahasamund headquarters and 20 meters from Sirpur city. The Khallari Mata temple is located near the site.

The Forest Management Committee will operate the Eco Learning Centre at Dudhwa Reservoir, 30 km from the district headquarters and 288 km from Raipur. The tourists can go for motor boats and adventure activities.
