Baghel said ensuring quality, better pricing and marketing would lead to higher sales. The women self-help groups can then derive maximum benefits.
Based on the needs of the villages, products which can be consumed locally can be produced on priority basis. Online shopping websites or stores like Amazon and Flipkart can be used for branding and sale of finished products of Gauthans.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to provide machines for filtering vermi-compost in all Gauthans. Dairy industry has benefited from the Godhan Nyay Yojana, he said.
The farmers are using vermi-compost and demand is likely to increase. So, the production should be hiked, he said.
Reviewing the Silk Mission, Baghel said collection of natural Kosa cocoons and yarn making can be a means of income and employment opportunities for the tribal population.
Officials said a Cocoon Bank has been established at Nangoor in Bastar district. Natural Rally cocoons are purchased by the Forest Department at support price. A total of 740 beneficiaries have been given training in making yarn.
