CM inaugurates Covid Care Hospital at Balodabazar
Chhattisgarh Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday inaugurated a Covid Care Hospital with 500 beds at the Krishi Upaj Mandi (agriculture produce market) in Balodabazar town.
The virtual inauguration was held right before an online review meeting of Raipur and Durg divisions. The warehouse of the Krishi Upaj Mandi has been transformed into the hospital with 120 oxygen equipped beds.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of the district for building the hospital in a record time of 20 days. He said the new facility will bring relief to Covid-infected patients, an official communication said.
On the occasion, Baghel appealed to the people to strictly follow the Covid guidelines.
Collector Sunil Kumar Jain said it is the first hospital in the state built by transforming a ‘mandi’ (paddy market).
The air-conditioned ultra-modern hospital has 500-bed capacity and it is equipped with 120 oxygen-beds including 33 HDU beds, 36 ICU and 380 general beds. If required, this facility can be expanded in future.
The Health Department will operate the hospital.
