CM releases book on ‘Butterfly Treasure of Chhattisgarh’
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday released a book, ‘Butterfly Treasure of Chhattisgarh’, which describes 170 species of butterflies found in the largely green state.
The release took place at the launch of the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme.
The author, Chief Conservator of Forests Sanjita Gupta, has been studying butterflies for 10 years, an official communication said.
Gupta said this is the first book on the species of butterflies found in Chhattisgarh. He has given detailed information about the structure, life cycle, food, behaviour and importance of butterflies.
Those present on the occasion included Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar, Principal Secretary of Forests Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Rakesh Chaturvedi and his deputy K. Murugan.
