CM remembers Gundadhur on Bhumkal Day
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid tributes to martyr and tribal hero Gundadhur on the Bhoomkaal Memorial Day on Thursday.
Baghel garlanded the portrait of Shaheed Gundadhur at a function held at his official residence. Parliamentary Secretary Shishupal Sori was present.
Baghel said that even before the revolt of 1857, the voice of protest was raised against the atrocities of British rulers in the tribal areas of Chhattisgarh.
Tribal heroes played an important role in leading these protests. They sacrificed everything for their motherland.
Under the leadership of one such hero, Amar Shaheed Gundadhur, the tribals in Bastar fought resolutely against the British rule for water, forest and land (Jal-Jungle-Zameen) in 1910.
“The sacrifices of Gundadhur will always be a source of inspiration and courage for the tribal people, inspiring them to claim their rights and empowering them to raise voice against exploitation”, Baghel said in a statement.
