CM wants 2,500 posts filled in power company
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has ordered the state’s power company to recruit 2,500 junior engineers, line attendants and field officers, giving preference to local youths.
It is the first time such a large number of one-time recruitment will be carried out in the power company, an official communication said on Thursday.
The Special Secretary in the Energy Department, Ankit Anand, said there has been a significant increase in the number of consumers and electricity generation after the formation of the state. From 18.91 lakh, the number of consumers has shot up to 56 lakhs. In this context, the vacant posts need to filled up to ensure quality power supply and quick redressal of consumer grievances, the statement said.
