CM’s father Nand Kumar Baghel gets bail
Nand Kumar Baghel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s father, who was sent to jail three days ago for making anti-Brahmin comments, on Friday got bail from a court.
A court had on Tuesday sent the 86-year-old on judicial remand till September 21 after he refused to seek bail.
On Friday, he presented a bail application before the First Class Judicial Magistrate Janak Kumar Hudco, who granted the bail on a personal bond of Rs 10,000.
The senior Baghel was charged under Indian Penal Code Sections 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) and 505(1)(b) (with intent to cause or likely to cause fear or alarm to public or to any section of public whereby any person may be induced to commit offence against the state or against public tranquility).
