Corona could not derail Nava Chhattisgarh dream: CM
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said the first and second waves of Covid-19 threw up tough challenges but the state government did not falter in its bid to build a Nava Chhattisgarh.
He was addressing the virtual inauguration and bhoomi pujan of 244 works at a cost of Rs 685 crores for Durg and Balod districts from his official residence cum office.
Durg district will have 57 works (Rs 285.87 crores) while 187 development works will be undertaken in Balod (Rs 399.32 crores). These include the fields of education, health, roads, electricity and drinking water. The Chief Minister said the second wave of Covid was now “completely under control” in the state. The corona crisis slowed down the pace of development across the state but it continued nevertheless. Interacting with children of Atmanand School (Balod), he said the state’s endeavour of opening the school chain in the state was to ensure that children of poor families also get quality education, become competitive and develop their overall personality. Baghel interacted with beneficiaries of different schemes of both districts.
