Covid-19 positivity is 3.8 percent in C’garh
The Covid-19 positivity rate has fallen in Chhattisgarh to 3.8 percent after 43,240 samples were tested, it was announced on Monday.
A total of 1,655 persons were found Covid positive. The number of active cases has slid to 39,261, Harsha Puranik, Deputy Director (Public Relations), told the media.
Timely intervention by distribution of medicine kits to Covid positive patients has helped bring down the positivity rate, she told the media. A total of 19.36 lakh medical kits have been delivered till date, free of cost.
The districts which still have the highest number of active cases are Surajpur, Balrampur, Korea, Janjgir-Champa, Jashpur, Raigarh and Baloda Bazar.
On vaccination, she said the state has vaccinated 7.81 lakh people in the 18-44 age category till Sunday. Against the target of 58.66 lakh citizens, the vaccination of 45.12 lakh citizens has been done (77 percent).
She said all deaths are recorded through ‘Death Investigation Form’ by the district authorities citing the reason. At times, istrict authorities send the details late. This leads to difference in deaths at district and state levels.
The number of Black Fungus cases has risen to 182 in the state, the officer added.
