Covid cases falling in 14 districts, rising in rest
The number of Covid-19 cases is decreasing in Chhattisgarh’s 14 districts which had reported highest positivity but more are falling ill in the remaining 14 districts, Dr Subash Mishra, Director, Epidemic Control, Chhattisgarh, said on Sunday.
Addressing the media virtually, Dr Mishra said among the worst hit districts, Raipur recorded a 29 percent fall in positive cases, Durg 15 percent, Rajnandgaon 24 percent, Jashpur 11 percent and Baloda Bazar 7 percent by the end of April.
He said the recovery rate in the state was high due to timely intervention by the Home Isolation team and doctors regularly monitoring the patients and providing them advice and medical assistance.
This has also helped in bringing down hospital admissions, he added.
Dr Mishra added that on the one side there are positive results emerging in 14 districts while in around 14 districts now the number of positive cases is increasing. It is a matter of concern.
“There is a need to follow the Covid protocols. It should become a habit, which in long run will help reduce the positive cases,” Dr Mishra said.
