Despite Covid, farmers’ interests won’t be ignored: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that despite the Covid-19 crisis, the interests of the farmers will not be ignored and there will be no shortage in meeting their needs.
Keeping in mind the Kharif season 2021, the government is not only engaged in arranging fertilizers and seeds but has also started getting these expeditiously stored in committees, an official communication said on Wednesday.
In view of the demand for Kharif, so far about 45 percent fertilizera and 25 percent certified seeds have been stored.
This process of storage will continue uninterruptedly. Farmers will be able to take them in line with their requirements.
Keeping in mind that farmers will need money for Kharif 2021, under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, the government will transfer the first instalment amount in the form of agricultural inputs on May 21.
Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that in view of the demand for 952,500 quintals of various types of seeds in the state, so far 687,032 quintals have been ensured.
He said target of various types of chemical fertilizers is 11,75,000 tonnes, against which 525,528 tonnes have been stored.
