Dharsa development scheme will commence soon: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said the Dharsa Vikas Yojana will soon be started in the state to give farmers convenient access to their fields.
He added that a new avenue of income has been opened for the farmers by linking the Chief Minister’s Plantation Scheme with the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, an official communication said.
In a virtual programme, Baghel performed bhumi pujan of 1,430 works worth Rs 565 crores in Balodabazar-Bhatapara and Mahasamund districts.
Although the pace of construction work got hit due to the Covid-inducted lockdown, “we kept the more important works going with full force”, he said.
The government took effective, consistent and consolidated steps to save the poor people, farmers, labourers and villagers from hunger, unemployment and worries of the future.
Last year, the poor were given rice free of cost during the lockdown. This year, the arrangement for rice distribution in May and June was made in advance. Rice will be given free of cost from July to November.
The Chief Minister said that development works which got derailed because of the pandemic will now be completed at a faster pace.
Baghel sanctioned Rs 6 crores for pucca road and a bridge from village Pahanda in Balodabazar district to Raipur via Limahi and promised Rs 20 lakhs for construction on land allotted to the Thethvar Yadav Community Hall in the district.
During the event, the Chief Minister had a discussion with women from self-help groups as well as beneficiaries of various official schemes.
