Diarrhoea Outbreak Spreads in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur Drict
Raipur- The Chantidih area of Bilaspur drict, Chhattisgarh, continues to be ravaged a severe outbreak of diarrhoea, with the disease now spreading to Bilha and Masturi areas. Children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable, bearing the brunt of this deadly illness. Tragically, the death toll due to diarrhoea in Bilaspur drict has reached five, while nearly 200 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
The situation has escalated beyond the city limits, with other areas of the drict also grappling with the outbreak. Chantidih has been hit hard the diarrhoea epidemic, recording four deaths and nearly 400 cases. Tragically, Parmeshwari Bai from Bilha succumbed to the disease as well. In the Manikchauri and Kokadi villages of the Masturi area, about 150 cases of diarrhoea have been reported. The health department has promptly set up examination camps to assess and treat patients in these regions.
Doctors emphasise the need for special precautions to protect children during the rainy season, as they are particularly susceptible to waterborne diseases. As the outbreak perss, authorities diligently work to contain its spread and provide medical care to those affected. Swift and effective measures are essential to mitigate the impact of this health crisis on the community and prevent further loss of life.
