Encounter Breaks Out Between Police and Naxals in CGs Dantewada

DANTEWADA: An encounter broke out between police personnel and Naxals in Dantewada said an official on Thursday. The exchange of fire took place near Bacheli police station in Dantewada on Wednesday night as the former from the banned outfit tried to set ablaze a JCB machine and a truck used for doubling the railways.
According to the police, a JCB machine used in railway track doubling work and a truck used to transport iron ore were partially damaged in the incident.
A search operation is underway, the police added.
On the intervening nights of March 19-20, a dozen vehicles engaged in road construction work in the Kanker drict of Chhattisgarh were set ablaze a group of Naxals. The incident took place near village Alparas and Gundul under Koyelibeda police station limits, Bastar Range IG. The damaged vehicles included two earthmoving machines, two bulldozers, and eight tractors.
