When Priyanka Chopra visited husband Nick Jonas’ house for the first time: ‘My dog peed in his car…’; what helps when initial interactions don’t go as planned | Lifestyle News

Visiting a partner’s house for the first time can be a nerve-wracking experience, especially if you’re trying to make a good impression. Priyanka Chopra’s account of visiting Nick Jonas’ home for the first time offers an insight into the pressure one feels.
In a 2019 interview with The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, she said, “Everything in Nick Jonas’ house is immaculate, like his alarms work”. “When I went to Nick’s house to stay there, it would make me so nervous…when something is super clean and you take off your shoes, it just bothers you. His house is immaculate. So, my dog peed in his car on the first day. It is a white carpet, too. Before he came home, I can’t tell you, I went through everything…cleaners, baking soda…like scrubbing serious elbow grease,…got it out…but he still noticed.”
This candid confession offers a glimpse into how first impressions can be overwhelming. “In her case, despite the warm and welcoming atmosphere, it’s natural to feel the pressure of wanting to make everything go perfectly. For many, first impressions can either set the tone for a lasting connection or cause unease,” said Dr Chandni Tugnait, psychotherap, coach, and healer, founder and director, Gateway of Healing.

Break the ice with shared interests: When entering a new space, especially your partner’s, having a shared topic of interest or experience can serve as a great icebreaker. “Finding a relatable subject, whether it’s a hob, movie, or even something simple like a favourite food, can help ease any awkwardness and build rapport quickly,” said Dr Tugnait.
