Field officials must follow Covid protocol: CM Baghel
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday told field officials and employees of power companies from various districts to strictly follow the Covid protocol and to maintain uninterrupted power supply. Discussing their works and challenges, Baghel said he was happy the Electricity Department has continued with the production and ensured uninterrupted supply to the consumers despite the Covid-19 crisis. He asked them to strictly follow the Covid protocol as it will help them stay safe and ensure safety of their families.
The Chief Minister said that it is summer season and people are at home all the time due to the lockdown. Hence, uninterrupted electricity supply should be ensured. Also, the pending work of irrigation pump electrification should also be completed at an expedited pace, he said. At the meeting, the Chairman of power companies, Ankit Anand, said that 90 percent of the total estimated expenditure for treatment in hospitals is being given as medical advance to the Covid-infected departmental officers and employees.
Contractual workers are being provided a medical advance of up to Rs 50,000.
