Glazing unit will boost income of potters: CM
Inaugurating a glazing unit at Kumharras in Dantewada district on Tuesday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said it will help in enhancing skills and boost the income of potters. It will also provide them with better market opportunities.
“There is a huge potential in our folk art and for their full exploitation, the Matikala Board is working to encourage the establishment of glazing units,” he said.
Baghel said the potters will be able to prepare attractive clay products in less time with the help of modern machines in the glazing unit. The potters will have a display unit in one place which will also help them tap a wider market.
The Chief Minister inspected the premises and took a glimpse at the machines at the unit. He saw the products prepared by the potters. The potters presented him a statue of ‘Gajraj’ made by them, an official communication said.
Baghel emphasized the importance of training saying it will help to enhance the skills and increase the business prospects.
