At least 1 dead, 5 injured in mass shooting in Canada’s Toronto | World News
In a mass shooting incident in Canada’s Toronto, at least one person died and five others were injured with non-life threatening gunshot wounds in Lawrence Heights on Tuesday night, police officials said.
In a post on X, Toronto Police informed that one male person was confirmed dead and five others were transported to hospital with gunshot wounds. The authorities added that those admitted to hospital are expected to survive.

Police and paramedics were called to Flemington and Zachary Roads in the area of Ranee Avenue and Allen Road at about 8:30pm (local time) after reports of shootout, local reports stated. The shooting took place in a residential area near Yorkdale Shopping Centre in North York.

The police have not said anything about the suspect or any arrests post the shootout. Toronto police further informed that they have setup a command post in the area of Ranee Avenue and Flemington Road.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said she was “durbed” with the reports of shooting. “My office is in contact with Toronto police, who are on scene now and investigating, and the local councillor Deputy Mayor Mike Colle,” Chow said on X.
