HC denies interim relief to suspended GP Singh
The Chhattisgarh High Court on Friday denied interim relief to suspended ADG G.P. Singh on sedition charges.
The decision was taken by a bench of Justice N.K. Vyas.
Senior Advocate Kishore Bhaduri pleaded for Singh in the High Court while Additional Advocate General Amrito Das argued for the government.
Singh sought interim relief claiming the government was ‘biased’ and ‘politically motivated’. He wanted his case to be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Singh was a fortnight ago booked for sedition after being arrested for corruption.
Raids by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and Economic Offences Wing on Singh’s premises led to documents which police said revealed that Singh was involved in promoting enmity and hatching a conspiracy against the government.
