Raipur: The Hockey World Cup Trophy reached Raipur on Saturday. It was welcomed Chief Miner Bhupesh Baghel himself at the CM’s residence in Civil Lines. Hockey players should play fugdi, for this there is no need to go to the ground, they can practise at home as well. Playing fugdi gives exercise to the whole body, new kids have not played but old people have been playing it. In the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics, 60 – 65 year old women have made records playing fugdi. Playing other games gives an advantage to the main game, like playing marbles will improve your concentration and shooting ability”, the CM said during the meet. State Sports Miner Umesh Patel, who was present in 21 programs, said that at present 4 players of the state are involved in the Hockey India Camp junior level. Among them are players like Bhumiksha Sahu, Anisha, Aanchal, and Aditya Netam. “When the Chief Miner had handed over the sports department to me, he had instructed that for the last 15 years, there has been a lot of expenditure on infrastructure, but we will have to work on the players and the academy. Presently 21 academies are running in the state. Before this, their number was zero for 15 years. In this way we are paying attention to the game”, said Miner Umesh Patel.
