IGAU innovations to be used in Rural Industrial Park: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday said the innovations of the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU) in developing technology to process agricultural products will be used in the Rural Industrial Park being set up in villages.
Addressing a function at IGAU to dedicate various infrastructure development works in the university, he said the institution was playing an important role in the development of the new technologies in agriculture.
The Chief Minister said the Chhattisgarh government had taken several effective steps to give a new direction to develop agriculture and to further strengthen the sector.
“We are working towards making the villages self-dependent as per Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of ‘Gram Swaraj’,” he said.
Innovations by IGKU will assist in the processing of agricultural and minor forest produce products, said Baghel.
He also inaugurated a Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bhawan, an Akti Biodiversity Museum and a Knowledge Center building in the IGAU campus.
Baghel launched seeds of improved varieties of eight crops including paddy, soybean, maize and raspberry. He inaugurated a technology to isolate protein and glucose from rice developed by the university.
