Jawan Killed in Naxal Encounter; Mortal Remains Sent to Kerala

SUKMA: The mortal remains of the Jawan of the CoBRA 222nd Battalion who was killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxals in Sukma drict on Tuesday were sent to his village in the southern state of Kerala today. The martyred officer was given a grand salute in Jagdalpur prior to the departure to his hometown Palakkad.
As per reports, Mohammed Suleman a Jawan of the 222nd Cobra Battalion suffered back injuries during heavy firing in the forests of Dabbakonta on Tuesday afternoon after the Naxal avenged the death of four of their comrades amplifying the attack on the security forces camp.
Speaking to media reporters on the incident, Bastar IG Sunddarraj mentioned that the security forces have increased anti-Naxal operations in Dabbakonta and Pidmel which has significantly reduced their concentration and endured them heavy damage.
