LoP Narayan Chandel’s Son Booked for Sexual Assault

RAIPUR: Opposition party leader, Narayan Chandel’s son Palas Chandel has been booked for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage for years and coercing her to undergo an abortion.
A complaint was filed against the leader’s son said Kavita Dhurve, in charge of the police station where the case was lodged. He has been booked under Indian Penal Code’s Sections 367(2)(n) (repeatedly raping a woman) and 313 (causing miscarriage without consent).
“An FIR was regered against the accused in the capital city Raipur’s Mahila Thana for sexually assaulting a lady of Janjgir Champa on a false promise of marriage. The victim also complained that she was coerced to abort her child. First, the victim filed her complaint in SC &ST act Police station against the accused later on FIR was lodged against the accused in Mahila Thana,” police said.
Meanwhile, state Congress spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur said the BJP must remove Chandel as LoP and expel him from the party.
