Man Who Stabbed Lady with Screwdriver Arrested; One Aide Held
RAIPUR: The CG police on Sunday arrested two in connection to the murder of a 20-year-old woman stabbing her multiple times in Korba drict after she refused to talk to one of the accused.
The accused identified as Shabhaan Khan was detained from Rajanandangaon during a regular check at the checkpost. His aide Tarbez Khan, who helped him with the execution of the murder is also nabbed. 4 police teams were engaged to investigate the matter, SP Santosh Singh said. Prima facie the accused who threatened her of dire consequences of her action flew to Raipur from Ahmedabad and reached Korba road where he checked in at Shalin Lodge a night before the murder.
Kusum Pandey, a 20-year-old woman was found dead in the Pump House colony on December 24th. First pictures of the woman revealed the lady was stabbed multiple times, which was later confirmed through postmortem reports. ” She was stabbed 51 times with a screwdriver”- the report mentioned.
Investigations revealed the accused had befriended the victim three years ago and later moved to Gujarat for work purposes. The duo stayed in touch, however, the lady after a while danced herself and refused to talk which provoked the accused to kill her. A report on the movement of the accused following the murder mentioned he first went to Ambikapur then Nagpur. His acquaintance Tarbez Khan helped him elope from Korba, officials said.
Shiv Kumar Dhari, the investigating officer in the case, said that the accused had even threatened the woman’s 12-year-old brother when she was avoiding him. “The victim and her family members never lodged any complaint to police or told anyone else about this,” said Dhari.
