Mohan Markam Slams BJP, Urges Them to Focus on Their Own Affairs
Raipur: With the assembly elections approaching in just a few months, the recent appointment of TS Singhdeo as deputy chief miner has sparked intense political discussions in Chhattisgarh. The state Congress president, Mohan Markam, has responded to the criticisms raised BJP president Arun Sao against the Congress party’s state president, asserting that the BJP should refrain from meddling in others’ affairs and focus on their own party matters.
Sao had claimed that the Congress had initially promised to appoint TS Singhdeo as the Chief Miner for two and a half years but had now unjustly relegated him to the position of deputy chief miner, considering it an insult to Singhdeo.
Countering Sao’s statement, PCC president Mohan Markam, who is currently engaged in the ‘Booth Chalo’ campaign in Balod drict, emphasized the seniority of Singhdeo within the party. Markam highlighted that Singhdeo had previously served as the Leader of the Opposition and played a vital role in advancing the organization under the leadership of Bhupesh Baghel.
Markam further pointed out that despite the BJP’s 15-year tenure in power, their seat count has decreased to 14. He urged Arun Sao and the Bharatiya Janata Party to focus on their own party’s affairs, rather than scrutinizing others. Markam emphasized the Congress party’s electoral successes in 2003, 2008, 2013, and 2018, and highlighted their current government with a significant majority of 71 seats.
