Panchayat representatives thank CM for honourarium hike
A delegation of Panchayat representatives on Monday met and thanked Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for hiking the honorarium of officials of District Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Gram Panchayat.
They also thanked Baghel making provision of Development Fund for Rural Local Bodies.
In the recently approved State budget, honorarium of the District Panchayat Presidents has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 and of District Panchayat Vice-Presidents from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. L
Likewise, the honorarium of District Panchayat members has been hiked from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 per month.
Similarly, honorarium of Janpad Panchayat Presidents has gone up from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000, of Janpad Panchayat Vice-Presidents from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000 and of Janpad Panchayat members from Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,000.
The Sarpanch’s allowance has been increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000. The allowance of Panch candidates has risen from Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 per month.
A provision of Rs 22 crore has been made in the budget under the District Panchayat Development Scheme, including Rs 15 lakh for District Panchayat Presidents, Rs 10 lakh for Vice-Presidents and Rs 4 lakh per year for the members.
Moreover, Rs 66 crore has been provisioned in the budget under Janpad Panchayat Development Fund Scheme, which includes Rs 5 lakh for Janpad Panchayat Presidents, Rs 3 lakh per year for Vice-Presidents and Rs 2 lakh per year for the members.
