Pick between Gujarat and C’garh models, says Baghel
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday touted Chhattisgarh’s model of development as an alternative to the BJP’s hyped ‘Gujarat Model’ and urged voters in Uttar Pradesh to make their choice.
The Chief Minister said the public have witnessed that under the Gujarat model the assets of the country were being sold, money was being taken from the masses, farmers were not given adequate price for their produce and youths were not getting jobs.
“On the other hand, under the Congress party’s Chhattisgarh model of development, promises made to the public are fulfilled. Now, you have to decide which model you want,” Baghel told an election rally at Mirzapur.
He maintained that the BJP government had cheated the public in the name of development in Uttar Pradesh.
Baghel said the Congress in Chhattisgarh fulfilled all the promises made by its leader Rahul Gandhi including waiving off Rs 9,000 crore worth of loans of 19 lakh farmers within nine hours of the formation of the government, he said.
Paddy in the state was being procured at Rs 25,000 a quintal, he added.
