Police Bullet Killed Villager in Encounter

BIJAPUR: A local died in the Tandem CGs Bijapur on Wednesday. Villagers claim the local was killed in the encounter that broke out between the Naxals and the security forces in Tarrem police station area. The deceased is identified as Punem Lakhmu.
Security personnel however, denied the claims and stated that several naxals were killed and few others were injured in the encounter. And that no civilian was killed.
Receiving a tip-off, about the movement of Naxals in Gundam and Chhutwai forests, border areas of Bijapur-Sukma drict, a joint team of DRG, STF and Cobra Battalion was dispatched.
