Promote biogas use as fuel, says CM
Citing rising prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday called for supply of biogas as fuel to provide relief to the urban poor.
Holding a review of the Urban Administration and Development Department here, he sought a gauthan in urban areas at vacant land along with a biogas plant. The biogas waste-cum-fertilizer generated should be utilized in gardens and fields. An official statement quoted him as saying that all stray cattle in urban areas can be taken care of in gauthans. The Chief Minister told the officials to work towards making the civic bodies tanker free. Under the Tanker Fee City Campaign, of the 169 civic bodies in the state, 126 have become tanker free.
