Raipur CGST Officials Bust Rs 5.92 Crore Fake ITC Racket
Two arrested for fake ITC and bogus invoices.The accused operated a chain of firms to execute the racket.Accused arrested under section 132(1)(l)(i) of the CGST Act, 2017.
Raipur: The Anti-Evasion Unit of Raipur CGST Commissionerate busted a fake input tax credit (ITC) racket on Tuesday arresting two for violation of GST Act.
As per reports, the CGST team raided the premises of Radhe Construction, Ayaz Khan, Mantu Qazi, Disha Traders and Mukesh Trader. The search unearthed documents that indicated the above firms were generating fake invoices and fraudulent Input Credit under GST.
Primary investigation revealed Manoj Kumar Valecha along with Sparsh Soni as the accused who were engaged in availing and passing on fake GST ITC of Rs 5.92 crore using bogus invoices for the above chain of firms.
The accused have been arrested under section 132(1)(l)(i) of the CGST Act, 2017. The accused were presentes before the Magrate and have been sent for 14 days remand. In a media interaction, Atul Gupta, Principal Commissioner, CGST, Raipur informed that the recent arrest increased the arrests sought through raids to 8.
