Raman attacks govt on prohibition pledge
Former Chattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday flayed the Congress government on its pledge to enforce prohibition in the state. “The incident of mass suicide in Mahasamund could not have happened if prohibition had been enforced,” the BJP leader said in a statement.
“Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel should feel ‘guilty conscious’,” he said, referring to the suicide by a woman and her five daughters. “The women fraternity, the mothers and sisters, will not forgive you for your deceit,” he added The mass suicide took place on the night of Wednesday/Thursday near a railway crossing between Mahasamund and Belsonda when Uma Sahu, 45, upset with her alcoholic husband, jumped before a running train along with her five daughters.
