Rename home ministry as Ministry of Providing Clean Chits: Congress’ Priyank Kharge takes jibe at Amit Shah

New Delhi: A day after Amit Shah was tasked with managing the crucial home ministry portfolio, Congress leader Priyank Kharge took a potshot at him on Saturday and said it is better to rename the Ministry of Home Affairs as Ministry of Providing Clean Chits.

Kharge, the Congress MLA from Karnataka’s Chittapur took to Twitter, saying, “Now that we have a new Home Minister, I think it is better to rename the Ministry of Home Affairs as Ministry of Providing Clean Chits.”

Shah, who was the BJP president before taking charge as Minister of Home Affairs, considerably played a vital role in steering the saffron party towards landmark victory in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha elections.

He officially took charge as Minister of Home Affairs on Saturday. Prior to Shah, Rajnath Singh was looking after the home ministry portfolio who has now been given the charge of Ministry of Defence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP regiestered a thumping voctory by bagging 303 of the 542 seats in the national elections.
