Reservation Amendment Bill to Wait for Assent Until March: Sources

RAIPUR: After more than a month, since the reservation amendment bill passed in the CG Legislative Assembly, CG Governor Anusiya Uikey in a statement according to sources has asked for time until March this year. This means the quota amendment bill that was unanimously passed during a special assembly session called the state govt in December will have to wait for assent until March.
A month ago, the Chhattisgarh government replied to a batch of 10 questions posed Governor Anusiya Uikey pertaining to reservations in the state. The questions were raised Guv Anusiya who on her three-day visit to the national capital last month held deliberations with the Home Miner and President Murmu in regard to the Bill.
The State Assembly passed the Chhattisgarh Public Service (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Reservation) Amendment Bill and the Chhattisgarh Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Amendment Bill, with regards to reservations/quotas in government jobs and admission in educational institutions. 
As per the Bill, the Scheduled Tribes will be accorded a quota of 32 percent, Other Backward Classes (OBCs) 27 percent, Scheduled Castes 13 percent, and four percent for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in government jobs and during admissions in educational institutions.
