Rise in Covid-19 cases in C’garh
Covid-19 positive cases are on the rise in Chhattisgarh. The government on Monday called it a matter of concern.
People need to keep following the Covid appropriate behaviour, particularly in urban areas, the Health Department said.
The positivity rate has jumped from 0.3 percent to 0.95 percent in Chhattisgarh as the number of Covid positive cases rose from 102 to 214 on Sunday.
The total samples tested in the state were 22,412.
It is a matter of concern as it would lead to a further increase in cases across the state, Dr Subash Mishra, Director (Epidemic), told the media here.
He said the districts of Raipur (39), Durg (70), Bilaspur (19), Janjgir Champa (12), Raigarh (9), Kanker (8) and Korba (4) have recorded a higher number of positive patients.
Only Bemetara, Kabirdham and Gariaband districts reported nil cases.
As part of expanding testing facilities for Covid-19, new laboratories are functional in Korea, Kanker, Korba and Mahasamund districts.
On Black Fungus, he said a total 404 cases were found while 234 patients have been discharged. The death toll is 42 due to black fungus and 23 due to comorbidity.
